Four little stakes were placed on a blustery cold day in April. (April 20, 2011)  As we stood there we all realized the impact of pounding those stakes into the ground.  It is just the beginning of the journey that we all will be taking together to change the lives of the Cottrell Family forever.  This is the year that people who have never ever worked on a Habitat Home before are volunteering from all directions.  This will be the hands on home that the Portland Community will take pride in when it is done.  To be able to step back and say "we did that", with a smile on our face and pride in our hearts. 

 

It is not hard to be part of a Habitat Home Build.  You don't have to go to meetings or anything to work on a Habitat Home.  Just watch the Website or Facebook and show up when it is time.
